Edouc BV

Everyone involved in international transport of goods sooner or later has to deal with customs procedures. In our region these procedures are no longer established by national governments but by the European Union and sometimes by the World Customs Organization. As a result of this customs procedures are universal and we do things more or less in the same way worldwide.

edouc logo nlCustoms procedures once were designed to ensure the proper levying of import duties. One of the features of import duties is that they cannot be reimbursed in general once paid. This is the result of the fact that import duties are depending on the type of product and the situation. Import duties differ from one type of goods to another and from one country of origin to another. Import duties sometimes are dependent on a certain use of the goods.

Lately we see a worldwide tendency to use customs procedures not only for the levying of import duties but also for the supervision on safety and security in international goods transportation. Procedures are adjusted to new approach from time to time. We also see another development in certifying companies the so called AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) –status. The basic principle in the AEO approach is that companies need less customs supervision once they have proved to be reliable. This gives customs the opportunity to concentrate on unknown companies and cargo.

We do know the customs procedures and the relevant latest developments. We also are able to explain to you and to your staff what is in particular important for your situation. We do have al lot of experience in delivering this knowledge both to companies and to governmental agencies worldwide.
